WHAT'S NEW

Since Tall Yarns is a brand new website, everything's new today! But this is where we'll be highlighting things we've added to the site. Here's a brief overview of what you'll find in each linked department:

Patterns: Here are the patterns ofsome of my original designs. For over 30 years I've been a professional seamstress and needleworker. I am an eclectic needleworker with an eclectic collection.

Kits: I have a few kits of my designs. If there's a pattern you'd like to see kitted, write me note and I'll consider it.

From the Movies: My favorite department. Needlework and movies are my main interests. In the movies I see so many things that inspire my needlework. "I just have to have one of those!", so I replicate whatever I want. In From the Movies, you'll find the patterns of my movie-inspired originals.

Made to Order: This department offers a custom-made pillow of your child's artwork.

Stories: Every project has a story.

Contact us: Here are Tall Yarns' addresses.

Orders: Explains how to order from Tall Yarns.

New patterns and merchandise will be posted regularly so check back periodically.

The Tafferal

"We should oftener look back over the tafferal of our craft than make the voyage like stupid sailors picking oakum." . . . . . Henry David Thoreau - Walden Pond

10-06-04: It's true -- we should always know where our boat has been and what it went through to get to these coordinates.

I've been fascinated with handwork since I was 5 years old and a neighbor gave me this tiny doll.

Someone told me the clothes were crocheted by hand! What? People can do beautiful things like this with their own two hands? Wow! My fiber gene kicked in and never stopped driving.

Needlework has been my life and vice versa. I've indulged in all its many aspects. It never gets boring -- there's always something new to learn. I clothed my children, lined my pockets, graced my family and friends, soothed my soul, and became One with wool-bearing creatures and with the grass of the field.

Now I share what I learned over the decades. To God be the glory!

And that's our Tafferal for today.
